Kelly Drill Pipe

As the driving component of the entire drill string in rotary drilling systems, the kelly drill pipe connects with the square bushing and rotary bushing to transmit torsional energy from the rotary table to the drill bit at the bottom of the well. They are available in both square Kelly and hexagonal Kelly types, and are manufactured in accordance with API Spec 7-1 and SY/T 6509-2000 standards.

Our square Kellys and hexagonal Kellys are made from AISI 4145H modified alloy bars and undergo full-length quenching and tempering. After this heat treatment, their Brinell hardness reaches 285-341. The ends, drive sections, and connections of the Kelly drill pipe are all machined and tested in accordance with API Standard.

Drill Pipe

Drill pipe is a critical part of the drilling rig, primarily functioning to facilitate drilling fluid circulation to the bit and back to surface, minimizing friction and heat buildup. The drill pipe also transmits drilling torque to the drill bit, enabling downhole drilling operations. Designed to withstand complex loading conditions, including tension, load, pressure, torsion, and bending, our drill pipes are manufactured from standard API steel grades, meeting diverse drilling application requirements.

Heavy Weight Drill Pipe

Heavy weight drill pipe serves as a transitional tool between regular drill pipe and heavier drill collars. It is also referred to as 'Hevi-Wate' or 'HWDP' in the industry.

In vertical well sections, HWDP is the most commonly used drill pipe. It delivers weight to the drill bit for directional drilling while offering greater flexibility than drill collars; in certain applications, it can replace drill collars entirely.

Manufactured to API Spec 7-1 standards, we supply both welded-type and integral-type HWDP.

Advantages
01

High Strength & Toughness

Produced using proprietary chemical composition and strictly controlled quenching and tempering heat treatment processes.

02

Reduced Hook Load

High-strength drill pipe reduces drill string weight, in turn reducing torque and drag.

03

Enhanced Hydraulic Performance

Reduced wall thickness can enlarge the pipe’s inner diameter, thereby enhancing hydraulic performance.

04

Proven Reliability

Over 1 million feet of high-strength, high-toughness drill pipe sold worldwide.
