Cementing Plug – Oil Resistance, Acid-Alkali Resistance & Excellent Displacement Performance

We provide three types of cementing plugs: standard type, non-rotating type, and wiper type. All types are typically used in pairs as upper and lower plugs. According to the design, the upper plug is solid core, while the lower plug is hollow. When the lower plug withstands a pressure of 2–4 MPa, the rubber membrane can be ruptured, providing a channel for the cement slurry and establishing circulation. Cementing plug core is manufactured from aluminum alloy or polymer materials, while the plug is made from high-quality nitrile rubber. The structure adopts the 5W type design.

Standard Cementing Plug

The standard cementing plug is constructed from graded rubber fused onto a composite or aluminum core. For double-plug cementing, both plugs are used; for single-plug cementing, typically only the upper plug is utilized. The plug core is made of drillable material, making it fully drillable with a PDC drill bit.

Application: Standard type cementing plugs are suitable for various float collars and float shoes.

Advantages: Conventional design with five wiper fins for effective casing wiping; Drillable with PDC and roller cone bits; The bottom plug is equipped with an integrated rupture disk.

Non-Rotating Cementing Plug

The non-rotating cementing plug is equipped with a non-rotating guide plate, manufactured from phenolic resin compressed under high temperature and high pressure, providing excellent torque resistance; the outer shell is made of wear-resistant nitrile rubber. All components are drillable.

Application: The non-rotating cementing plug is suitable for non-rotating type float collars and float shoes.

Advantages: It reduces drilling-out time and lowers operational costs; dual-stage sealing design delivers superior sealing performance.

Drill Pipe Wiper Plug

The drill pipe wiper plug is used to wipe the interior of the drill pipe and running tools after cementing is completed, ensuring the pipe remains clean and ready for use. The plug is launched from the cementing head and is pumped through the drill pipe and running tools by fluid circulation. They can be used in various ways and are manufactured from different materials, including PTFE or aluminum.

Application: Used in inner string cementing operations, this cementing technique is especially suitable for large-diameter (16" – 30") conductor or surface casing cementing, effectively solving the challenges associated with large-diameter cementing plugs and cement heads.

Advantages: Dual-stage sealing design for superior sealing performance; excellent wear and temperature resistance.
